You don’t need to workout that much etc.' The answer is very simple: EXERCISE is my MEDICINE! #tbt to 2008 when I was diagnosed with clinical depression and had to move back to Colombia, quit my job and drop school. I had to go through a LONG treatment to cure my depression! 💆🏽♀️ It was probably the darkest time of my life and I was able to see the “other side of life” the not so pretty one. I wanted to die. But with the help of my family, doctors, exercise and proper nutrition I was able to overcome it and come back to finish my career here in Houston and continue my life in the states. 🎓
I workout because that’s how I stay mentally healthy, motivated and full of energy! When I skip the gym my day is slow, I feel down, I crave junk food and I don’t have the same energy! 🤨
Mental health is THE MOST important thing we possess. It doesn’t matter what you look like, how much money you have or who’s in your life, if you don’t have mental health you don’t have ANYTHING!
