Who ever said that what you say in life is not as important as what you do obviously was not at the recent Fitness America Pageant. Talking the talk was ever more important as walking the walk in Las Vegas. The competition was ever so tight between the Top 5 Finalists, but whisper thin between newly crowned Champion Tiffani Bachus
(left) and Runner-Up Annette Perry (right). Tiffani brought to the stage a dazzling performance of dance and gymnastic moves while Annette was ever so dynamic, creative and inspiring with her own style of dance mix. In both the Fitness and Swimsuit Rounds, Annette won with by just a 1/2 point margin over Tiffani and appeared to be ready to win the show. But, in the end, the Interview Round, worth just 10% of the overall score and dreaded by Top 5 Finalists for years, gave Tiffani an 1/8 th point edge to capture the 20th Anniversary title.
Tiffani is so atypical of what you would expect a competitor fitness champion to be – 37 years of age, married, three kids, educator, registered dietician, dance instructor and choreographer. But what inspires people is when you personally meet this lady. After even a short encounter, you walk away feeling so refreshed and welcomed. Tiffani is the definition of class and graces the Fitness America Pageant title with dignity and integrity worthy of its tradition.
Hailing from Boston, Annette brings a vest and zeal to the stage unlike any other. The 28 year old corporate group benefit sales person has been dancing since the age of 3 and a professional cheerleader for 3x World Champion NFL New England Patriots. And Annette has a bevy of titles to her credit including the Fitness New York and Fitness Atlantic Pageant and 2x Ms. Bikini Universe (Short Class).
