Once again, the Fitness America Pageant caped a season of incredible performances by fresh, new talent mixed with seasoned veterans. This year, nearly 50 of the world’s best fitness athletes graced the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino stage supported by the biggest audience seen in recent years. Once again, the Opening Performance was
created by Hollywood commercial and dance choreographer Tony Gonzalez who taught the 90 second routine to the girls in less than 4 hours. Said one competitor, “It was like a breeze watching Tony teach all of us and like in minutes we had it down. Super exciting for me, being new to the show.” Started his choreography career at the 1991 FAP and has since been creating the opening performances at both the FAP and FUP. Says Tony, “I am doing movies, TV commercials and music videos throughout the year, but I keep coming back because I love working with the girls and its where it all started for me. I get energized for every show.” Tony’s choreography helps to foster greater camaraderie among competitors while giving the show a touch of elegance and professionalism. |
